Betreff: THE TANGENT and ANDY TILLISON News. Pre-Ordering has started for 2 NEW ALBUMS - Plus downloads now available for Po90 & GFDD enthusiasts.
Hello and welcome to the first Tangent newsletter in a while, sorry we have been a bit quiet but there has been a hive of activity here at Tangent HQ!
Since his return from the very successful Tangent/Karmakanic mini-tour of Europe in May (thank you to all who came along to the shows!) Andy has been very busy in the studio and we are delighted to announce that The 8th Tangent studio album “A Spark in The Aether” is taking shape nicely and due for release in the first half of 2015. It is written and ready for Morgan Agren (drums), Jonas Reingold (bass), Luke Machin (guitars) and Theo Travis (flute and sax) to record their parts with a strong possibility of one or two very special guests to be announced later.
Andy says "This is an album that seeks to return to the core of what The Tangent means to me... after our big orchestral opus that we delivered in "Le Sacre Du Travail" we're, to an extent, reining in the instrumentation to the 5 piece electric Prog Rock band and focussing a little more on that all-important second word of the genre name 'Rock'. At least for the first half!"
You can get involved in the early stages if you Pre-Pre order the new album now and get to hear 3 tracks in progress right away with regular updates as the recording process takes shape.
But, that’s not all folks!
Pre-ordering is also available for a BRAND NEW SOLO PROJECT “The Andy Tillison Multiplex”, Andy calls it a Jazz Rock album and describes it as being “A continuation of some of the musical ideas that we brought to "Sacre" but this time it is much more Jazz-Oriented and, for the most part it's instrumental” The album is due for release later this Autumn, early feedback has been very encouraging and if you pre-order you can hear several tracks in progress right now.
There is also an option to be a MEGAFAN and get your name in the “Spark in the Aether” booklet by ordering both albums together.
The completists amongst you will be pleased to hear that we now have a large array of back catalogue available via The Tangent shop and we have been delighted with the response to the new DOWNLOADS SECTION of the shop where you can purchase some very old and previously unavailable (or almost impossible to get hold of for a sensible price) titles from Andy’s early career including “Afterlifecycle” and “The Corner Of My Room” by Po90 and “Where do We Draw The Line” by Gold Frankincense & Diskdrive – This section has proved to be very popular so more titles will be added in the near future, keep checking back!
More info of course and plenty of music to listen to, including some new stuff, at the recently re-vamped Tangent website www.thetangent.org
While you are there make sure to check out Andy’s long awaited Blog page which we have attached to the site – there are 4 Blogs up already, some of them are about music and some aren’t and those of you who love Andy’s lyrics will definitely enjoy reading them. Please feel free to leave your comments, he loves to get feedback. Keep checking back for new blogs
which will be added regularly and we are also planning on inviting one or two guest bloggers from time to time.
You can get regular news updates, see exclusive video clips of Andy working in the studio and join in comments threads and regular discussions with Andy and likeminded music lovers at our very popular and friendly FaceBook Group at: www.facebook.com/groups/alltangentmembers/
Or if you prefer to Tweet you can find:

And Andy at www.twitter.com/progferbrains
Many, many thanks to those of you who have already pre-ordered, we have had the biggest initial response ever and some very nice feedback from the work in progress downloads, which is particularly encouraging regarding “Multiplex” – early indications seem to show that this will not be a one off!
Last but not least thank you all for your ongoing support and enthusiasm for The Tangent, this band was built for fans by fans and as such would be nothing without each and every one of you.
NB: We have a policy of never ever spamming Tangent fans or asking them to vote in polls.
You have been sent this newsletter because you have either purchased Tangent albums in the past or have requested to have your email address added to our list.
